About
Founder
I’m Samuel Segato, founder and editor-in-chief of DeafNews. DeafNews is an independent editorial project: I run it personally, from story selection to final review.
Mission
DeafNews is an independent editorial project focused on cybersecurity, threat intelligence and AI security. We monitor authoritative sources every hour to detect vulnerabilities, attacks, advisories, risk scenarios and developments in the security market, with the goal of making accessible to a technical audience what is often confined to industry reports.
Editorial approach
DeafNews’s editorial workflow is AI-assisted but editorially supervised. Every article goes through editorial review that:
- verifies facts against primary sources;
- assesses relevance and timeliness;
- ensures terminology and technical accuracy;
- structures the text for readability.
We do not publish automated summaries of press digests: every article has a viewpoint, a context and a declared editorial relevance.
Editorial standards and primary sources
News published on DeafNews is always verified against primary sources, including:
- CISA — Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency;
- NIST — National Institute of Standards and Technology;
- ENISA — European Union Agency for Cybersecurity;
- SEC filings (8-K, 10-Q, 10-K) and official disclosures;
- Vendor advisories: Microsoft Security Response Center, Cisco PSIRT, Google Project Zero, Apple Security and similar;
- Threat-intelligence reports from established researchers and organisations;
- Official statements from the parties involved.
We do not report news based solely on social media or unverified leaks without explicit indication of their provisional nature.
